Percentage Change

Percentage Change is a topic that can be found on non calculator and calculator papers. What you need to remember in order to answer a percentage change question is the change formula.

For example the price of a coat is £140. In the sale the price is reduced to £115. Calculate the percentage change reduction. The change would be £140 – £115 which is £25. We now say £25 divided by the original amount which was £140 and multiply our answer by 100. So our final answer is 17.86% correct to 2 decimal places.
